St. Stephen’s is committed to providing all our students with an outstanding educational experience—one that embodies the school’s enduring mission, vision and values. In planning for the 2022-23 school year, our top priorities remain the health, safety and well-being of our students and employees.

Over the summer, school leadership continued to monitor the situation on the ground in Austin. We are thinking carefully about how we can live and learn fully in community this year while keeping each other safe. In the coming days, we will share updates regarding our approach to COVID-19 for the start of the school year. As we have for the past two years, we will maintain a dashboard that reports weekly confirmed cases in our community.

  • What is the plan for boarding students to arrive on campus for the 2022-23 school year?

    Each student will be required to take a COVID test before their arrival on campus. The following are acceptable options: 
    • A rapid antigen test is collected on the same day of arrival to campus (home test kits are acceptable), OR
    • A molecular test (PCR or NAAT) collected within 24 hours of arrival.
     
    Please send a copy of the formal test results or a picture of the home test results and the time and date collected to healthcenter@sstx.org.
     
    Additionally, if your child can answer "yes" to any of the following questions on the day of the planned arrival, please call the Health Center at (512) 801-7614 to discuss if/when your child is cleared to come to campus. 
    1. Have you been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
    2. Have you been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days? 
    3. Do you currently have ANY symptoms of COVID-19? 
      • Fever or chills
      • Cough
      • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
      • Fatigue
      • Muscle or body aches
      • Headache
      • New loss of taste or smell
      • Sore throat
      • Congestion or runny nose
      • Nausea or vomiting
      • Diarrhea
     
    Lastly, if your child has any prescribed medications they are bringing to school, those medications should be checked in with the Health Center upon arrival.
