Students in Dean Mohlman's Advanced Biology II class recently had the opportunity to practice and perfect their suturing techniques.
At the end of an academic unit focused on dissection — in which students compared the anatomy of various animals from an evolutionary advantage perspective — they had the chance to practice suturing on a synthetic skin pad. Providing the same life-like feel as real skin, the suturing pad provides the most realistic experience for students, enabling them to hone their skills and boost their suturing confidence.
Advanced Biology II students include Felix Halloran, Emioma Chukwudumebi, Elly Abikhaled, Nic Valdes, Alice Huang, Carson McCann, Patrick Simmonds, Kira Rosen and Carly Silverstein.
