St. Stephen's Orchestra Students Win Positions in TPSMEA

Last weekend six members of the St. Stephen's orchestra won positions in the Texas Private School Music Educators Association (TPSMEA) All-State Orchestra and Band. They will perform with these elite ensembles at the Eisemann Performance Center in Richardson, TX on Jan. 28, 2023.
 
Flute - Megal Alla, 11th Grade
Violin - Meghan Chia, 11th Grade
Bass - Thomas Guan, 10th Grade
Viola - Natalie Kwon, 11th Grade
Cello - Patrick Lemuel, 11th Grade
Cello - Kevin Li, 10th Grade 

Every year, the Texas Private School Music Educators Association holds an audition for placement in one of the four select all-state ensembles. Students from across the State of Texas compete against hundreds of young musicians for a position in one of these ensembles. The students who are selected attend a intensive three-day clinic in late January to rehearse and prepare a concert with a professional conductor. These six young musicians will be joined by Jeff Jinn (12th grade, Choir) and John Wells (9th grade, Jazz Trumpet) for All-State 2023.
