Spartan Athletes of the Week: Charlie Hubbard and Charlie Navarre

Congratulations to St. Stephen’s Varsity Golf player Charlie Hubbard ’25 and Varsity Baseball player Charlie Navarre ’26 for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors!

 

Last week, Charlie Hubbard competed in the Grey Rock tournament in Austin against 11 other schools from the Austin and San Antonio areas. The early rain and wet conditions didn't slow down Hubbard one bit. He shot a blistering 4-under-par 68, pacing the Spartans team and finishing in 2nd place overall. 

 

“Charlie has been the face of the boys’ golf team since he stepped on campus as a 9th grader,” commented Head Golf Coach Garrett Brustein. “He continues to do a wonderful job of leading by example and bringing the team together. We are lucky to have him and I couldn't ask for more from him on or off the course.”

 

Charlie Navarre’s bat was on fire during last week’s game against New Braunfels Thunder High School Baseball. He went three-for-four at the plate recording two singles, one double and two RBIs during the contest helping the Spartans earn the win.

Head Baseball Coach Steven Elder was excited about Navarre’s exceptional play last week. “His performance was outstanding and truly contributed to our success on the field," he said. “He has really stepped up and I am looking forward to seeing him continue to grow.”
