Spartan Athletes of the Week: Sydney Durrett and Sebi Creixell
Sydney Durrett '28 has been a standout on the court for Girls Varsity Volleyball this season. Last week, Durrett posted 19 kills, averaging 4.8 kills per set with a 47.5% kill percentage from 40 attempts. Her efficiency was highlighted by a .35 hitting percentage with only 5 errors. Durrett also contributed two digs to the team’s defensive efforts.
“As a freshman, Sydney has shown exceptional promise,” commented Girls Volleyball Head Coach Cursty Le Roux. “She is a key player to watch as the season progresses.”
Durrett and her team take on Southwest Preparator Conference opponent Greenhill School (Addison, TX) on Saturday, October 19th at 11 am in Clayton Gym.
Sebi Creixell '26 has been a force on both sides of the ball for Varsity Football this fall. He consistently blocks and disrupts opponent offenses. In last week’s matchup against the Hill Country Knights (Austin), Creixell recorded eight total tackles, seven of which were tackles for loss, along with a sack.
“We missed having Creixell on the team last year when he studied abroad,” remarked Football Head Coach Jay Patterson. “He’s been instrumental in motivating our younger athletes, and we’re excited to see his continued impact throughout the season.”
Creixell and the Spartans head to Bulverde, Texas, this Friday, October 18, to take on the Gloria Deo Academy Lions.
