Spartan Athletes of the Week: Tahj Potter and Nadine Benson
Tahj Potter ’27 has emerged as a key contributor to the Spartans’ formidable attacking line. Potter found the back of the net in the team’s 4-2 victory over Southwest Preparatory Conference opponent Fort Worth Country Day School.
“Tahj is always a threat,” commended Soccer Academy Director Shane Maguire. “He’s solid in defense and silky smooth with the ball at his feet.”
As the Spartans gear up to face Cistercian Preparatory School (Irving, TX) at 6 p.m. on Friday and the Episcopal School of Dallas at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Potter and his teammates will look to add another to the win column.
Nadine Benson ‘28 has been a force on the court, averaging a double-double, with 13 points and 10 rebounds per game. Her impact reaches beyond scoring and rebounding. Benson has also contributed, on average, 2 deflections and 1 steal per game, showcasing her versatility and commitment on both ends of the floor.
"I’m extremely proud of how Nadine has been performing recently," said Girls Basketball Head Coach Dustin Armstrong. "Her hard work and dedication are reflected not only on the court, but also in her second nomination for the Austin-Area Girls High School Athlete of the Week by the Austin American-Statesman."
Catch Benson and her team as they take on the Episcopal School of Dallas on Saturday at 11 a.m. in Clayton Gym in their second conference game of the season!
