Central Texans experienced a rare sight this week: snow! With about an inch of the white stuff falling in the Austin-area during the overnight hours on Monday night leading into Tuesday, boarding students, some who have never seen snow, and residential faculty members woke up to a campus that looked very different. For boarding students Sashka Parker ’28 (from the Cayman Islands) and Faizaan Mohammed '28 (from Saudi Arabia), it was their first time ever seeing snow.
Students bundled up and ventured out of their dorms and residential housing to see and snap photos of The Hill. Students constructed snowmen, others started friendly snowball fights. As the temperatures rose in the afternoon, the small amount of snow melted and the beautiful scenery across campus returned to normal.
