Making Waves: Still Water Foundation Aquatic Center Progress
St. Stephen’s is making extraordinary progress on constructing the Still Water Foundation Aquatic Center set to open in Fall 2025. Since the monumental groundbreaking ceremony held this past September, the outline of the Center’s footprint is starting to take shape. Crews with Rogers-O'Brien Construction have erected concrete walls and poured approximately 1,200 tons of concrete for the bottom of the pool.
At the heart of the new Center is a stunning 50-meter, Olympic-length Myrtha Pool designed to elevate training and competition opportunities for our student-athletes. The pool is shipped in hundreds of pieces that were manufactured at its Myrtha headquarters in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Italy. Now that the pool is on campus, it will be assembled piece by piece. The assembly and installation will take approximately eight months, keeping us on track for the grand opening.
This transformative project is funded through a gift from the Still Water Foundation and is part of St. Stephen’s bold comprehensive campaign that is slated to launch in 2025-26, the school’s 75th anniversary year. The campaign aims to enhance every aspect of campus life — from new and improved facilities to bolstered endowments that support faculty financial aid and scholarships, programs and curriculum. To date, the Spartan community has generously committed over $43 million to the campaign.
