E.P.I.C. Teammates of the Week: Lucy Clough and Keenan Hardy
The first EPIC Teammates for the spring season are eighth-graders Lucy Clough ’28 for Lacrosse and Keenan Hardy ’28 for the Red Baseball team.
Lucy plays midfielder for the Spartan Middle School Girls' Lacrosse team, and isn't afraid to take the ball to the goal and score when her teammates need her to step up! She has played strong games against the Vipers and Maroons so far this season. ”Lucy's the heart of our team,” said Coach Chelsea Richards. “She consistently shows up with a positive attitude. She is always ready to battle and have fun!" This balance of competitiveness and perspective makes Lucy a leader among her peers.
Keenan is a utility player who can play whatever position necessary for the Red Middle School Baseball Team! He was the starting pitcher on opening day and pitched the entire game, surrendering only one hit and one run, while accumulating nine strikeouts. Keenan has also played first and second base this season, which helped the team go undefeated at 3-0 early on. Coach Zane Ponder said, "Keenan is super-focused in practice, works hard, and is a good example for his teammates and for our younger players. He is an imposing figure on the mound, but is also a humble, dedicated athlete as well as a team player."
Congratulations to both Lucy and Keenan on being this week's EPIC Teammate!
