Spartan Athletes of the Week: Will Walters and Kayla Fink

Congratulations to St. Stephen’s Varsity Lacrosse players Will Walters ’26 and Kayla Fink ’24 for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors!

 

Will Walters has become an offensive leader on the team both scoring and creating opportunities for the team. Walters has scored and assisted in every game this season. Although only a tenth grader and still developing his arsenal of skills, Walters continues to draw the opponents’ best defender and often attracts double teams as well. He also helps the team between the lines by picking up ground balls and helping the team on the clear. 

 

Head Boys Lacrosse Coach Noah Fink is pleased with Walters play this season. “He has become a true team player by helping in any facet of the game when asked,” said Fink..

 

Kayla Fink embodies the essence of reliability and hard work both on and off the field. Her consistent dedication and commitment make her a cornerstone of the team–someone teammates can always count on. Fink plays lockdown defense and is heavily relied upon for transitioning the ball up the field. Her unparalleled speed makes her first to 50-50's and the leader of ground balls for the team. 

Head Girls Lacrosse Coach Emily Walling speaks highly of Fink. "She always leads by example and gives 110%,” she said. “Kayla is someone who you can rely on on and off the field. When she is near the ball I am confident she will end up with the ball in her stick."
