On Friday, the Spartans took the field against Holland Hall (Tulsa, OK) and controlled the match from start to finish. The squad dominated the midfield and capitalized on a couple of scoring opportunities to end the game with a 2-0 victory. Goalscorers included Emilia Fink '26 and Lila Ogle '27, and the Goalkeeper Jadyn Houston '27 earned the shutout with the help of the defensive line.
On Saturday, Casady School (Oklahoma City, OK) came to battle. Their physical play and speed were challenging to contain, and the Cyclones knocked in an early goal on a penalty corner in the first quarter. As time went on, the Spartans gained momentum and possessed the ball in their attacking half for most of the third and fourth quarters. Unfortunately, the team couldn't get one back before the final whistle, dropping the game, 0-1.
"We've got a good feel for North Zone opponents after playing Holland Hall, Casady and Trinity Valley (Fort Worth, TX) already this fall," said Field Hockey Program Head Chelsea Richards. "Their physicality and speed is something we're learning to match, and I'm confident that competing daily in practice will get us where we want to be, come the postseason."
