Spartan Athletes of the Week: Clara Rogers and Luke Mabley
Clara Rogers '25 was a standout player on the pitch over the weekend as field hockey traveled to Fort Worth and Dallas for conference matches against Trinity Valley School and Episcopal School of Dallas. Rogers dominated the defensive third of the pitch as a center back against the Trojans on Friday with well-timed tackles and solid distribution, alleviating pressure on a challenging surface. In Saturday's victory, Rogers stepped into the midfield to help build the Spartan attack, connecting defensive, midfield, and forward lines well throughout the game.
"Clara has such a strong field presence for our squad," praised Field Hockey Program Head Chelsea Richards. "Her technical tackling and outletting skills along with her real-time analysis are so valuable. Over the weekend, Clara stepped up her on-pitch communication, organizing our defensive structure against speedy, athletic teams with purpose and poise."

Luke Mabley ’26 had a commanding presence in Varsity Football’s high-scoring game last Friday. Mabley recorded eight receptions with 341 yards receiving and four receiving touchdowns.
"In a game where the result didn’t go our way, I was truly impressed by Luke's dominant display," said Head Coach Jay Patterson. "He fought hard for his team until the final whistle, and I couldn’t be prouder of his effort."
Luke and the Spartan Football team will look to bounce back this Friday, September 27, at 7:30 PM at Denius Stadium against St. Mary’s Hall (San Antonio, TX).
