Varsity Field Hockey
Varsity Field Hockey dictated play on Saturday in the team's 5-0 victory over Greenhill School (Addison, TX). While the attacking effort was shared responsibility, four goalscorers added to the scoresheet: Addie Bae Magruder, Maya Patel ’26 (2), Charlie Vogel '26, and Darby Osborne ’26. Assists came from Addie Bae Magruder, Lila Ogle, Story Rogers, and Eleanor Evarts. Goalkeeper Jadyn Houston maintained the shutout, her seventh of the season.
"We were purposeful and patient, urgent but not frantic - and the results followed," wrote Field Hockey Program Head Chelsea Richards. "For the last couple of weeks, we've been focusing on ripping shots in our attacking circle, and I think that work paid off on Saturday!"
Varsity Field Hockey travels out of state to take on top-ranked The Hill School (Pottstown, PA) and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (Philadelphia, PA) over the weekend.
Varsity Football
The Spartans faced a tough matchup last Friday against Gloria Deo Academy (Bulverde, TX) and struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game. Despite their efforts, the team couldn't overcome the challenge posed by their opponents. As they prepare for their regular season finale against the San Antonio HomeSchool Patriots on November 1, the Spartans aim to regroup and build momentum heading into the playoffs. This final game will be a pivotal moment for the team as they look to finish the season strong.
Varsity Boys Volleyball
The Varsity Boys Volleyball team secured a hard-fought victory over Awty International (Houston) in Clayton Gym last Friday, winning in 3 straight sets. The Spartans showed resilience and teamwork to close out the match, continuing their impressive form this season.
Varsity Girls Volleyball
The Varsity Girls Volleyball team played a close contest against Greenhill (Addison, TX) last week, falling just short in a competitive 5-set match. Despite the loss, the Spartans are determined to bounce back as they face their crosstown rivals, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School (Austin, TX), this Tuesday, October 22. It promises to be an exciting and crucial game for the girls as they seek to get back into the win column.
Varsity Cross Country
The Spartan Cross Country team is gearing up for their next race at the SAS Private School Invitational on October 26th, hosted by St. Andrew’s Upper School in Austin. With strong performances throughout the season, the team is ready to showcase their growth and continue competing at a high level as they approach the final stretch of the season.
