Spartan Athletes of the Week: Gabe Sahely and Reena Desireddi
Gabe Sahely '25 delivered an outstanding performance in the Spartans' 67-43 win over Dominic Savio, scoring 26 points while shooting an impressive 75% from the field and 80% from the free-throw line. His relentless defensive effort and several strong finishes in transition played a pivotal role in the team's victory last week.
“Gabe has truly embodied what it means to be a Spartan this season, and his journey is just getting started,” commented Head Coach Christian Spencer.
Reena Desireddi '28 outshined the competition at the Spartans' first swim meet of the season. She earned first place in the Girls 50-Yard Freestyle with a time of 26.74, secured another first in the Girls 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:06.22, and topped the podium once more in the Girls 100-Yard Freestyle, finishing in 58.86.
“Reena was fantastic in her performance, dominating every individual event in which she competed. I am excited to see how this group of 9th-grade swimmers will grow and compete for conference titles,” remarked Athletic Director Jon McCain.
