Spartan Athletes of the Week: Jack Jojola and Addison Tallas
Jack Jojola ’25 has been a force for the Spartans this season. His contributions have been instrumental in creating scoring opportunities for the Varsity squad. Jojola’s added to the stat sheet in nearly all of his team’s recent matches. At Monday’s 4-1 win over Trinity Valley, Jojola notched an assist. During Saturday’s 4-0 win over Oakridge, Jojola netted three goals. He contributed another an assist in Friday night’s 1-2 road loss to Greenhill.
“Jack’s recent performances have been outstanding of late,” commented Soccer Academy Director Shane Maguire. “He has elevated every facet of his game. He is creating and scoring goals and at the heart of all of our attacking play.”
Keep an eye out for Jojola on the pitch at the Boys Varsity Soccer game on Saturday at 1 pm on Meredith Field as the team faces St. Mark’s (Dallas) in a conference match.
The Spartan Girls Varsity Soccer team added another conference victory to the win column on Friday night against a talented Greenhill side, and Addison Tallas ’27 played a major role in securing the 3-1 win. Tallas’ management of the midfield pace and passing set the tone for the physical match. She led the team’s offensive charge, contributing a goal and an assist on the night.
“Addison may only be a sophomore, but she carries herself like a veteran boss in the center of midfield,” remarked Head Coach Andy Aceves. “She is willing to work hard and win important tackles when we don’t have the ball, and when we do have it, she always looks to get involved in creating our best attacking opportunities. Her goals, assists, and tireless defensive efforts led to important conference wins against ESD and Greenhill.”
Cheer on Tallas and the Girls Varsity Soccer team as they take on North Zone powerhouse Hockaday on Saturday at 11 am on Meredith Field.
