Their championship run began with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kinkaid (Houston, TX) in the first round, setting the tone for what was to come. In the semifinals, the Spartans faced their toughest challenge yet, taking on top-seeded Episcopal High School (Houston, TX). Rising to the occasion, they delivered a gutsy 2-1 victory, knocking off the tournament favorites and securing their spot in the final.

With the championship on the line, the Spartans showed no signs of slowing down, taking on North Zone Champions Hockaday (Dallas, TX) in a thrilling title match. Their relentless attack and composed defense proved too much for their opponents, as they secured the SPC 4A crown with a decisive 2-1 victory.

Bringing home gold was the perfect ending to a remarkable season. The Spartans’ success was a testament to their hard work, resilience, and belief in one another—solidifying their place as champions. Head Coach Andy Aceves said the team’s goal going into the tournament as the fifth seed was to win, not just be competitive.

“Many things have to go right for a team to win a trophy. We played some beautiful soccer at times, and we also played some gutsy, scrappy soccer when we had to. We saw moments of individual brilliance from special players, and we saw our girls fight through adversity when most others would have given up,” said Coach Aceves. “Ultimately, I think it was our spirit that made the difference: the girls simply wouldn’t stop fighting for each other. They are deserving champions, and I hope they never forget what they accomplished this weekend.”
