Over Spring Break, 17 students from 8th to 11th grade, five family members, and four faculty chaperones - Emilie Xu, Hai Zheng Olefsky, Crystal Guerrero, and Hen Kennedy - traveled to Taipei and Hong Kong to enrich their cultural knowledge and practice their language skills.
In the words of Upper School Mandarin Chinese teacher Emilie Xu, "It was truly a special experience for all involved, as we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich tapestry of different cultures. Throughout the trip, students explored authentic Chinese culture and language, visiting renowned historic sites and landmarks, participating in Chinese cooking classes, navigating the cities via subways, engaging with locals at markets, and savoring a wide array of delicious local cuisine."
